GOALS The main goal of the FSCJGT is to provide an opportunity for all junior golfers to play the game of golf in a competitive and learning environ ment The FSCJGT stresses competition, education, integrity, sportsmanship and lots of fun. The FSCJGT encourages parents to participate with their children in all events. In the future with the help of sponsors the FSCJGT would like to create scholarship fund for deserving junior golfers. A part of the scholarship fund would be set aside for junior golfers who may not have otherwise been able to participate in FSCJGT events. THE ORGANIZATION Phyllis Lewellyn a renowned golf-teaching professional, organized the FSCJGT. Over the years, Phyllis has taught hundreds of junior golfers. She has organized numerous individual junior tournaments and coached juniors in international competition. After many years of teaching juniors, Phyllis recognized the need for a higher level of competition for juniors in the Sun Coast area. In order to fill this need the FSCJGT has been organized. GUIDELINES The Florida Sun Coast Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in its players, parents of players and its host facilities and all volunteers and organizers. In order to continue to make the FSCJGT enjoyable for everyone we require its participants and parents to adhere to a set of guidelines to be followed both off and on the golf course. These guidelines include adhering to the USGA Rules of Golf. MEMBERSHIP You must be a member, in good standing, of the Florida Suncoast Junior
Golf Tour to participate in our events. Consideration is given to out
of state players and members of other junior golf tours and organizations.
If you have not been a member or have never participated in our tournaments CODE OF CONDUCT - Violations of the Code of Conduct including: abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers, or officials, abuse of golf course or clubhouse facilities including bunkers not being raked, ball marks not repaired, trash not placed in proper receptacles, will result in a two stroke penalty. Repeated violations may result in disqualification. Smoking or chewing of tobacco products, use of drugs and alcohol will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification and possible banishment from the FSCJGT. All decisions regarding Code of Conduct violations made by the Director and or the Tournament Committee are final and not subject to appeal. COMPETITION - Awards will be given to 1st - 3rd place winners. DRESS CODE - It is expected that all parents and players adhere to the dress code in respect to the golf facilities and members. Proper attire is required at all times. The Dress Code prohibits: metal spikes, short shorts, tank tops, halter tops, bare mid-drifts, T-shirts, denim attire of any color. All hats and caps must be worn properly with the bill facing forward. Shirts must be collared and tucked in at all times. (Girls may wear collarless tops if part of a coordinated outfit) ETIQUETTE - Proper golf etiquette must be observed at all times. Radios, headsets and cell phones are not allowed to be used by players, parents or spectators at anytime during competition. PACE OF PLAY - Players must keep up with the group in front of them. Players are limited to two practice swings for all ages. Upon reaching the green, players 12 and under shall continue to putt their ball with out marking until holed out. Observe rule 6-7 "the player shall play with undue delay". The penalty for breach of this rule is 2 strokes. The penalty for repeat offenses is disqualification. CARTS No player shall ride in a powered cart during the course of play with the exception of tournament approved shuttles. Players must carry their own bag or use a pull cart. Parents and adult spectators may rent powered carts at the discretion of the host facility golf course. Powered carts must be operated in a safe manner at all times and must remain on the cart paths and in approved areas only. CADDIES - Caddies are allowed only for players in the 12 and under division. When the caddie is assisting the player line up a put or full shot, they must back away from the line before the stroke is played. A penalty of 2 strokes will be assessed for violation of this rule. SCORING - A parent/ caddie in the 8 and under divisions may count and record the players scores. Parent/caddie in the 9-11 divisions must exchange scorecards with the other player parent/caddie. Age divisions 12-18 must exchange their scorecards within the group. Both the scorer and player must sign their scorecard. Players are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of their scores. Players not recording a true score will be disqualified from the event and repeated inaccuracies will result in banishment. Any player electing not to turn in a score card will receive a NC and will not be allowed to play in the next scheduled event. The maximum score on a hole for any player is 10. SPECTATORS - Spectators are welcome and may follow players in all divisions but may not communicate with them in any manner during competition. Competitors are reminded of rule 8-1 concerning advice and receiving assistance. A penalty of two strokes will be assessed for each violation. Spectators are asked to stay 20-30 yards behind players for safety reasons. Spectators are not allowed on the fairways or greens. Parents are encouraged to follow, watch and applaud their youngsters. STARTING TIMES - Players must arrive at their designated starting tee at least 10 minutes before starting time. Arrival of the player within 5 minutes after their starting time will result in a two stroke penalty. Players arriving later than 5 minutes may be disqualified. Players must call for their starting times three days prior to an event. Starting times will also be available on the web site. TIES - All other medal postions will be decided by a play-off of cards starting with the #1 handicap hole for the course. REFUND POLICY - Tournament Fees will be transferred to the next scheduled event if withdrawal is made 7 days prior to the tournament date. No refunds for rainouts. Every attempt will be made to reschedule rained out events at the same course. No phone entries can be accepted. POINT SYSTEM points will be awarded for each event. Points in all major events will be doubled. The player, in each age group, with the most points at the end of the season will be the player of the year. The top 7 in each age category will qualify for the Junior Ryder Cup. Points are awarded as follows:

ACADEMICS
Ages are determined by the player’s birth date. The FSCJGT reserves the right to change or adjust the age divisions based on the number of entries and participation in individual events.
